Imphal: Girls have outshined boys in the Class 12 Board examination 2024 conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) which has declared the results with an overall pass percentage of 97.63 per cent.
The private schools also outshine the government schools in the past percentage.

The Government higher secondary schools achieved a commendable pass percentage of 95.49 per cent, while private schools surpassed this with a pass rate of 98.18 per cent, according to the data release.
As the toppers of various streams are announced, the girls outshone the boys.
In the Science stream, Malemnganbi Laishram, a girl student from Comet School, Changangei, secured the first position, followed by Yumnam Khenika Devi (girl) from the same school in the second position, and Mayanglambam Sania Devi (girl) from Pine Wood View School, Langol, in the third position.

In the Arts stream, Thokchom Sheityajit (boy) from Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School, Sangakpham, secured the first position, followed by Khaidem Niranda Devi (girl) from the same school and Sapam Langlel Chanu (girl) from T.G. Higher Secondary School, Imphal, jointly securing the second position and Jenita Longjam (girl) from Enlighten Knowledge Higher Secondary School secured third position.
Finally, in the Commerce stream, Aiena Naorem (girl) from Kakching Higher Secondary School secured the first position, followed by Kethallina Maisnam (girl) from T.G. Higher Secondary School, Imphal, in the second position, and Longjam Aman Singh (boy) from SDJM Higher Secondary School, Paona Bazar, in the third position.
Over 31,000 students appeared for COHSEM Class 12 exams 2024 in Manipur across 111 centres.
