Schools, colleges, universities and all other educational institutions, both government and private, will continue to remain closed in Nagaland till further order.

This was informed by principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha on Sunday.

Sinha in his statement on the Covid-19 situation in Nagaland on Sunday also said the coaching and tuition classes will also remain closed.

The government issued the clarification in view of some confusions arising out of its order on Saturday directing the government offices to resume their functioning from Monday.

In connection with the resumption of functioning of the civil secretariat and the directorates in Kohima and Dimapur, chief secretary Temjen Toy has convened a meeting of administrative heads of departments and heads of departments in the secretariat conference hall at 11 pm on Monday.

The meeting has been convened to work out details for ensuring basic functioning of offices and prepare the list of officers and staff members who would be performing duties.

All other government servants are to remain in their respective homes for Monday and await further instructions from the administrative head of department and head of department concerned, Sinha said.

He said till 5pm on Sunday, 74 samples of suspected cases were sent for tests from the state.

The results of 70 samples have been received and they are negative.

The results of four samples are awaited.

Sinha said 407 people are presently under home quarantine while 28 are at facility quarantine.

The number of persons, who are out of home quarantine, now is 5,459.

He said if anyone, who is on home quarantine or has come out of quarantine, develops any signs and symptoms of cough, fever or has difficulty in breathing should contact the state helpline numbers 9856071745, 7005539653 of the health department.

Sinha added that the availability of essential commodities continues to be comfortable in the state.

He thanked everyone for their continued support and adherence to the lockdown provisions.
