Assam Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal on Friday said very soon a new University in the name of great Vaisnaivite saint Sri Sri Aniruddha Dev will come up in the State.
Speaking at the beninnel conference of the Muttock organisations jointly organised by All Assam Muttock Sanmilan, All Assam Muttock Yuba Chatra Sanmilan and All Assam Mahila Parishad at Chowkidinghee field here, CM Sonowal appealed ULFA (I) chief Paresh Barua to join the mainstream and worked for the greater interest of the Assamese society.

Chief Minister Sonowal released a book on the history of Muttock community titled ‘ Muttock Buranji’ penned by Dr Bimkanta Barua and Sushi Kumar Gogoi. Sonowal said the history book will immensely help the younger generation to know about the Muttock community.
“It’s a great initiative taken by the organiser. The ‘Muttock Buranji’ will help the younger generation to know about their rich history. They are one of the indigenous communities of Assam and worked very hard for the development of the Assamese society,” CM Sonowal added. He said every young man should know about their history and culture and feel proud for their rich history.
“Every young generation should imbibe the ideologies of the great Muttock King Sarbanada Singha, who worked for the greater interest of the Assamese society,” Sonowal added.

Sonowal announced for an opening of a new University, which will named after Aniruddha Dev, the greatest Vaisnaivite religious masters of the post Shankardeva era.
“I am happy that research work was done on Sri Sri Aniruddha Dev but more research work should be done on him. Every community of Assam is different because they have different literature and customs. Our government is dedicated to work for the development of all communities of Assam,” CM Sonowal said.
“We are very much focussed for the development of the young generation because they are the future leader of the country. Our government has stressed on Skill India and we have decided to open skill centres in the villages of Assam,” he said.
