The scene was that of Sadiya College in Tinsukia district. Eyes of all moved towards a 15-day kid, who arrived at the examination centre in Sadiya College.

All were anxious to know why was the kid, who was just 15 days old, coming to the examination hall of the college?

It may be mentioned that to give an opportunity to sit in a re-examination for the teachers who have been working in lower primary and upper primary school, who had secured less than 50 per cent marks in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination, the Education department of Assam has conducted a betterment examination.

Saditya College is also one of the examination centres for conducting the betterment examination for those teachers who failed to clear the higher secondary final examination securing more than 50 per cent marks, which is the minimum pass percentage for the school teachers.

The betterment examination has been conducted by Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University.

In order to sit in this examination, the mother of the 15-day kid had to bring her kid to the examination hall.

The mother of the child is Aruna Bora, a teacher at Gurukul Jatiya Vidyalaya, Ambikapur.

As there was none in her house to see the child, Aruna Bora had no other options but to take her kid to the examination hall.

On the other hand, as the mother took her kid to the examination, the examiner of the centre took help of the school girls to see the kid until the examination was over.
