Guwahati: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) on Tuesday declared the Class 12 (Higher Secondary) examination results for 2026 across Science, Arts, Commerce and Vocational streams, recording an overall pass percentage of 81.54% with the Science stream registering the highest success rate.
In the Science stream, 60,667 students appeared for the examination, of whom 54,474 passed, registering a pass percentage of 89.79%. A total of 34,079 students secured first division, 17,777 second division and 2,618 third division.
The Commerce stream recorded a pass percentage of 81.13%, with 15,796 students clearing the examination out of 19,469 who appeared. Among them, 7,787 secured first division, 5,694 second division and 2,315 third division.
In the Arts stream, which had the highest number of candidates, 2,41,124 students appeared, and 1,91,798 passed, taking the pass percentage to 79.54%. Of the successful candidates, 54,755 secured first division, 79,181 second division and 57,862 third division.
The Vocational stream recorded a pass percentage of 74.20%, with 1,087 students passing out of 1,465 candidates. A total of 92 students secured first division, 701 second division and 294 third division.

More than three lakh students had registered for the HS examinations this year across all streams.
