Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal wished all the candidates of the High School Leaving Certificate and Assam High Madrassa examination, 2018, that began on Friday. conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) that began on Friday.

In a tweet on his official tweeter handle, early Friday morning, Sonowal wrote:

‘Best wishes to all the students appearing in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations.’

Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi also extended his heartfelt wishes to all the examinees appearing for the High School Leaving Certificate Examination and Assam High Madrassa Examinations starting on Friday.

In a message issued officially earlier on Thursday, Governor Prof Mukhi said, “My prayers and wishes are with the students who after years of devotion and dedication are appearing for their first board examination. I wish you all the very best and pray to God that you all come out with flying colours and prove your worth in your academic pursuits.”

This year a total of 353,533 students are taking the first major examinations in one’s academic career.

It is interesting to note that this year the number of female candidates has outnumbered the male counterparts in both the examinations.

Of the total 344,190 students appearing in the HSLC examination, 176,308 are female and 167,882 are male candidates.

In Assam High Madrassa, 5,225 female candidates are appearing as against 4,118 male students.

The examinations will continue till March 8.

Authorities have taken special care to ensure free and fair examinations.

CCTVs have been installed in all the examination centres across the State.

Specific protective measures have also been taken after identifying some sensitive zones.

There are a total of 852 examination centre under 34 evaluation zones across the State.
