Guwahati: Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on Wednesday said that the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will release the results for the Higher Secondary (HS) Examination on Thursday (May 9).

It may be mentioned that a total of 2,80,216 candidates across the state appeared for the exam.

Of them, 1,39,486 were male candidates and 1,42,732 were female candidates.

In terms of stream, 2,06,467 students are from the Arts stream, 54,287 from the Science stream, and 17,582 from the Commerce stream.

Last month, the results of the HSLC exams were announced by the SEBA.

However, it needs to be mentioned that Education Minister Ranoj Pegu came under fire for creating confusion with contradictory social media posts regarding the announcement of HSLC exam results, allegedly misleading students, parents, and the public.

The Education Minister in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle wrote, “Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will declare HS Exam Results-2024 tomorrow at 9 AM. The official Press Release will be issued at 7 AM. Best wishes to all the candidates.”
