Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Saket Kushwaha released the first placement brochure of the university with the theme ‘Transforming Opportunities into Reality’ here on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Kushwaha said the RGU, the lone central university of Arunachal Pradesh has since its inception been a human resource provider to the state in particular and the nation in general.
“The university’s graduates are well placed in all the sectors, be it government or private, banking or industries including many reputed companies such as BBC, Wipro, etc.,” he said while emphasizing on the importance of placement activities in the university.
He said the university community is committed to producing quality graduates who are behind none in getting a good placement and absorbed in the job market.
Prof Kushwaha further urged the corporate houses, manufacturers, service providers and the research and development establishments to come for the placements.
RGU pro-vice-chancellor Prof Amitava Mitra said the placement cell was established through the Academic Council on February 19, 2019, to maintain the university’s placement records and to provide greater avenues to its graduates.
The placement cell is the university’s continuous endeavor to keep abreast of the challenges and opportunities in the job scenario of the state and the nation, he said.
The brochure will be beneficial for both the graduates and recruiters who are seeking suitable placement and recruits respectively, he added.
Registrar Dr Nabam Tadar Rikam said the university is not keeping any stone unturned in making its products employable and emphasized on making the student aware of their tracks of careers through the SWOT (Strength, weakness, opportunity, and Threat) analysis.
Finance officer of the University, Prof Otem Padung in his speech assured that the university’s civil service and NET coaching programmes will be made more frequent in the post-pandemic days.
“More efforts will be put in to set things at place so that graduates can have a clear vision of the way forwards after completion of their respective degrees,” he said.
Joint registrar Dr David Pertin informed that the on-campus or digital campus recruitment drives are welcoming and regular events these days in the RGU campus.
“The Vivekananda Kendra Arunachal Pradesh Trust, Dibrugarh will be recruiting education, computer science and engineering, physical education and psychology graduates in the next couple of days for their various teaching-oriented positions while the Zee Media Private Ltd has also approached the varsity for campus recruitment of Mass Communication graduates,” Dr Pertin said.
“Byju’s and ICICI have also expressed their interests for campus recruitment,” Dr Pertin added.
Companies like WIPRO, Spire Group Advertising Agency, HDFC and Tajuk Infosys Private Limited have already conducted their recruitments, he further said.
