Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Dr) B D Mishra (Retd) met the Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar recently in New Delhi.

The Governor requested the Union Minister for opening residential Kendriya Vidyalaya in four to five of border districts in conjunction with Navodaya Vidyalaya for creating educational facility for the children.

The Governor emphasized on opening of these schools in the remote areas and higher reaches of border districts.

The Governor also emphasized on fast track planning and commissioning of these schools.

In addition to the help for the school-going children, the people living in these areas will also be benefited by the opening of these schools in great measures.

This initiative will also help in the development of the area, generation of employment and livelihood, the Governor felt.

The Union Minister for Human Resource Development appreciated the suggestion of the Governor and promised his full support in this regard.

The Union Minister promised to open these residential Kendriya Vidyalaya-cum-Navodaya Vidyalayas as early as possible.

The Governor also mentioned to the Union Minister for Human Resource Development for appointing the Director for the NIT, Yupia and also a permanent Vice Chancellor for the Rajiv Gandhi University.

The Union Minister promised to complete the process of the appointment of Director, NIT and Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University at an early date.

It was also emphasized by the Governor that the educational institutions, both higher level and also Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas need special dispensation for Arunachal Pradesh.

The meeting of the Governor with the Minister for Human Resource Development culminated on a very optimistic and helpful note.

Mishra,  also had a meeting with the Commissioner of Navodaya Vidyalaya.

The Governor briefed him also regarding the need for opening of primary and secondary schools for the young children of Arunachal Pradesh which Governor had discussed with the Human Resource Development Minister.

The Commissioner of Navodaya Vidyalaya also promised to the Governor for asserting Arunachal Pradesh Education Department in supplying and transporting of NCERT textbooks for the schools in various districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
