The Board of School Education Manipur (BOSEM) declared the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2019 results on Saturday afternoon.

This year, 74.69 per cent students – the highest since 1973 – cleared the Class 10 examination, conducted by the BOSEM. The last highest pass percentage (73.18) was recorded in 2018.

The lowest pass percentage in the history of HSLC examination conducted by BOSEM in Manipur was 21 pc which was recorded in 2002.

This year, a total of 37,138 students, including 18,342 boys and 18,796 girls appeared in the examination out of which 27,740 students including 13,882 boys and 13,858 girls cleared it.

The examination was conducted from February 20 to March 15,2019.

Bhumika Shamurailatpam of Pitambara English School, Imphal, secured the first position with 570 out of 600 marks.

Sophia Asem of Brighter Career Academy, Thiyam Leishangkhong and Arvind Maibam of Tiny Tots’ Unique, Imphal jointly bagged the second position. Each of them secured 567 marks.

Moirangthem Julendia Devi of St. Thomas School, Kontha Ahallup in Imphal East district bagged the third spot in the merit list. She secured 566 marks.

The students who secured highest marks in various subjects are Ksh Galax of Padma Ratna English School Kakching (English), B Shene Susan of St. Anthony School and M Julendia of St. Thomas School (Science), Hatminnei Kipgen of Eklavaya Model Residential School Saparmeina (Commerce), N Longjam of St. Joseph School (Manipur MM) and Mehandi Prasad Teli of Th. Ushus School Soibam Leikai Imphal (Hindi).

A total of 11 students scored 100 out of 100 in Mathematics.

Manipur Education Minister Th. Radheshyam Singh announced the HSLC results in presence of BOSEM officials during a press conference at BOSEM office.

Unlike the previous years, the result of the examination was not displayed in the notice board of the BOSEM located in the heart of Imphal town.

The results can be accessed at the websites – www.bosem.in, www.manipureducation.gov.in and www.manipur.gov.in.
