With the launch of the Mi Watch in its home market China, Xiaomi has forayed into the smartwatch segment.
The Chinese tech giant unveiled its first-ever Mi Watch alongside an all-new Mi CC9 Pro and Mi TV 5 series at an event in Beijing.
The smartwatch, with a 1.78-inch AMOLED display, a 44 mm dial and matte finish, looks similar to the Apple Watch.
Xiaomi has revealed that the original version of the smartwatch will have an aluminium alloy frame and curved Gorilla Glass 3.
The premium version of the smartwatch will come with a stainless steel strap, glass protection, and a stainless-steel frame.
Xiaomi’s smartwatch has been priced at CNY 1,299 (approximately Rs. 13,000).
The customers will be able to purchase the premium version of the watch at CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs. 20,000).
This is a first-gen smartwatch from Xiaomi.
The Mi Watch flaunts the same squarish form factor, bezel-less display, and a digital crown on the edge as the Apple Watch Series 5, say reports.
The Mi Watch is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC.
It supports dual-SIM connectivity.
The watch houses a 570mAh battery and comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC support.
The watch gives 36 hours of life on single charge, claims Xiaomi.
The Mi Watch also includes a six-axis sensor, GPS support, heart rate sensor, a compass and barometer.
The watch is swim and waterproof. The device comes with 1GB of RAM and 8 GB of onboard storage.
The new device is set to go on sale from Sunday and will come in black and silver colour options.
