The two-day conclave provided a platform for emerging entrepreneurs in the region to help promote and boost their ventures and also serve as a learning platform.

“The sessions at the conclave were very interesting. It helped me gain a lot of new ideas about the importance of product packaging and organic food items,” Monmi Das noted.

Talking about her Upcycle initiative she said, “It is an eco-friendly initiative. I have re-used mason jars, pickle bottles and transformed them into decorative pieces One can use it as a centre-piece. Moreover, they could be used as lamp shades with the tea light candles.”

“I have put crochet details and table mat cut outs to shoe boxes which can be used as a container for various purposes,” Monmi Das added.

Upcycle is now just seven months old. Along with art and craft, Monmi Das is also a baker who specializes in cupcakes.

After receiving a positive response at the conclave, she is now planning to start a food cum boutique at her residence in Guwahati.

“I will be launching Yellow 29 in a month which will have confectionary, art and craft items,” said Das.

“The North-east region is very resourceful and I want to introduce combo meals with north-eastern delicacies in a ‘Souper Bowl’ concept in Yellow 29. At a commercial scale, a lot of synthetic items are used. I do not want to compromise on the quality even if I have less number of clients,” Monmi Das further added.
