The Central Recruitment & Promotion Department of the State Bank of India (SBI) has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens for the recruitment of 2,000 Probationary Officers (POs) in the bank.

According to an advertisement (No: CRPD/ PO/ 2020-21/12), the State Bank of India said online registration of application and payment of fees has been started from November 14.

The selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India.

Before applying, the candidates have been requested to ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria for the post.

Candidates can apply for vacancies in one state only. Candidates can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project.

Candidates are required to upload all required documents (brief resume, ID proof, age proof, educational qualification, technical qualification, Discharge Book, etc.)

The process of registration is complete only when fee is deposited with the bank through online mode on or before the last date (December 4, 2020) for payment of fee.

The bank has advised the candidates to check bank’s website https://bank.sbi/careers or https://www.sbi.co.in/careers regularly for details and updates. No separate intimation/ advertisement etc. will be issued in case of any change/ update.

Eligible candidates are required to register online for the recruitment process which will be held in three phases.

How to apply:
Candidates can apply online only from November 14, 2020 to December 4, 2020. No other mode of application will be accepted.

Pre-requisites for applying online: Candidates should have valid email ID and mobile no. which should be kept active till the declaration of results. It will be essentially required for receiving any communication/ call letters/ advices from the bank by email/ SMS.

Guidelines for filling online application:
Candidates will be required to register themselves online through Bank’s ‘Career’ website https://bank.sbi/careers or https://www.sbi.co.in/careers. After registration candidates are required to pay the requisite application fee through online mode by using debit card/ credit card/ Internet Banking.

The tentative schedule of events is as follows:
Online registration including editing/modification of application by candidates is November 14, 2020-December 4, 2020.

The date for payment of the application fee is November 14-December 4, 2020.
The preliminary examination call letters can be downloaded from the 3rd week of December 2020 onwards.

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online.
Selection criteria for Main Examination: Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Preliminary Examination.

There will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates numbering 10 times (approx.) the numbers of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for Main Examination from the top of above merit list.

Main Examination will be conducted online and will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks.

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, 1/4th of marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

The candidates must bring one photo identity proof such as passport/ Aadhar/ PAN Card/ Driving License/ Voter’s Id Card/ Bank Passbook with duly attested Photograph/ Identity Card issued by School or College/ Gazetted Officer in the official letterhead in original as well as a self-attested Photocopy thereof.

The photocopy of Identity proof should be submitted along with call letter to the invigilators in the examination hall, failing which, (or if identity of candidates is in doubt) the candidate will not be permitted to appear for the test.

Application fee and intimation charge (non-refundable):

Application fee will be Rs 750/- for General/ EWS/ OBC candidates and ‘Nil’ for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates.

Application fee once paid will not be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.

Emoluments:
Presently, the starting basic pay is 27,620/- (with 4 advance increments) in the scale of 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I.

The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/ Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time (the emoluments are likely to be revised shortly).
Joining, training & career path:

The selected candidates will be exposed to basic banking knowledge through an online course and will have to complete this course before joining.

The selected candidates, at the time of joining, will have to execute a Bond for a value of Rs 2 lakh to serve the bank for a minimum period of three years.

The Bond will be invoked by the Bank if the candidate resigns from the service of the Bank before expiry of three years from the date of joining.
