Reliance Jio added a total of 23.3 lakh customers from January to December 2019, says a report of the telecom company.
As per a report, Reliance Jio added 41,140 customers and BSNL added 12,633 customers whereas Vodafone Idea’s customer base was reduced by 79,108 customers and Airtel’s was reduced by 23,757 customers during December 2019.
The recent subscriber data published by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for December 2019 has revealed that Reliance Jio continues to lead net addition of customers in Assam.
The customer base of billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio increased from 56.4 lakh in December 2018 to 78.72 lakh in December 2019, the company claimed.
In terms of subscriber market share, Reliance Jio now commands 33.3% customer market share in Assam.
On the other hand, both Bharti Airtel & Vodafone-Idea Ltd were not able to increase their customer base during the whole year of 2019, the Reliance Jio report said.
Bharti Airtel lost 23,651 customers and Vodafone-Idea lost a whopping 6.7 Lacs customers during the year, the report added.
Jio continues to dominate the revenue market share in Assam commanding 42% share as per the latest quarterly revenue released for the 3rd quarter of FY 2019-2020 ending December 2019, as per data released by the TRAI.
Bharti Airtel shares the second position with 38% revenue market share followed by Vodafone Idea ltd at 16% and BSNL at 4%.
This is the sixth consecutive quarter where Reliance Jio has continued to be the RMS leader in Assam.
