Guwahati: A major outage has been reported across the globe by millions of Microsoft Windows users who are experiencing the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error which is causing the system to suddenly shut down or restart.
According to Downdetector, a website which monitors outages, a sharp spike in problems with websites including Microsoft applications, banking sites and airline apps has been noticed.
The IT major in a message said that the error is being caused due to a recent CrowdStrike update.
Reports state that users across the UK, Germany, the US, Australia, New Zealand, India and Japan have reported this problem.
Microsoft has said that the recent outage began with a subset of its customers experiencing issues with multiple Azure services in the Central US region.
Azure is a cloud computing platform that provides services for building, deploying, and managing applications and services.
Moreover, the company said that it is investigating an issue impacting various Microsoft 365 apps and services.
Microsoft also said it was taking “mitigation actions” after service issues.
“Our services are still seeing continuous improvements while we continue to take mitigation actions,” the company said in a post on social platform X.
