Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi met Consul General of Germany Michael Feiner on Monday and discussed various bilateral issues, including trade and commerce.
Governor Mukhi informed him about the tremendous emphasis that the Act East Policy has given to reposition Assam and the entire Northeast as a centre of India’s relation with ASEAN and BBIN countries.
“Highlighting an array of investment opportunities in Assam, Mukhi informed him about the just concluded Global Investors’ Summit in Guwahati, which attracted investments to the tune of more than Rs one lakh crore to the state,” reported Zee Bussiness.
The Governor also apprised him of the State Government’s road map for connecting the region to ASEAN countries and Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal (BBIN) through airways, waterways, roadways and cyberways.
Jagdish Mukhi urged the Consul General for frequent business and cultural exchanges between Assam and Germany to strengthen bilateral relations.
Feiner assured that though India and Germany enjoyed balanced business relations he will try his best to increase the relation manifold.
