Mahesh Deka is the Executive Editor of Northeast Now, based in Guwahati, with around 15 years of experience in journalism. He previously worked with The Sentinel and Eastern Chronicle and focuses on in-depth reporting on conflict, environment, and politics in Northeast India. He has received fellowships from IGSSS, the National Foundation for India (NFI), REACH, the LAADLI Media Fellowship, and UNICEF, and has also been part of the Environment Data Journalism Academy and Google’s AI Skills Academy.
