Applications are invited for recruitment of various research based positions or jobs in Mizoram University in 2026.

Mizoram University is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or jobs of Research Assistant and Field Investigator purely on a temporary basis in the ICSSR, New Delhi funded Major Research Project titled: “Flood Vulnerability, Displacement, and Sustainable Rehabilitation in the Brahmaputra Valley: An Integrated Machine Learning and Socio-Spatial Framework” in 2026.

Name of post : Research Assistant

No. of posts : 1

Salary : Rs. 37,000/- per month (Consolidated)

Qualification :

Essential Requirenments:

Candidates must hold a Postgraduate degree in any Social Science discipline with a minimum of 55% marks, along with the ability to assist in data collection, processing, and preliminary analysis, and possess good communication skills in local languages (Assamese/ Hindi).

Preferable Requirements:

Preference to candidates having UGC-NET/M.Phil. /Ph.D., experience in GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS), familiarity with machine learning techniques (e.g., Random Forest, K-Means), programming skills (Python/R), prior fieldwork experience in household surveys or ground-truthing, and overall experience in the relevant research field. Candidates having publications related to the project theme or relevant research areas will be given additional preference.

Job Roles : Data collection, analysis, GIS and also machine learning-based work, and assisting the Project Investigator (PI) in research activities and report writing.

Qualification :

Essential Requirements:

Candidates must hold a graduate degree in any Social Science discipline with a minimum of 55% marks, and should also possess good communication skills in local languages (Assamese/ Hindi), along with experience in conducting household surveys or data collection in rural areas, and the ability to work independently and diligently in challenging field conditions.

Preferable Requirements:

Preference to candidates having a four-year graduation degree, prior experience in projects related to disaster management, community development, or rural studies, familiarity with digital data collection tools (ODK Collect/ KoBoToolbox), and the ability to understand and navigate local geography.

Job Roles : Field surveys, household data collection, tabulation, and field-based support.
