Remuneration :
1. Assistant Professor (Physical Education) : Rs. 45,000/- per month
2. Assistant Professor (Social Science) : Rs. 45,000/- per month
3. Assistant Professor (Fine Arts) (Part Time) : Rs. 1,000/- per class or maximum of Rs. 25,000/- per month
4. Assistant Professor (Performing Arts) (Part Time) : Rs. 1,000/- per class or maximum of Rs. 25,000/- per month
Eligibility Criteria :
Assistant Professor (Physical Education) :
Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) with minimum 55% marks for General candidates and 50% for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Differently-abled candidates. Training/qualification in Yoga Education is desirable.
Assistant Professor (Social Science) :
1. Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences with minimum 55% marks for General candidates
and 50% for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/ Differently-abled candidates.
2. M.Ed. degree with minimum 55% marks
3. Besides fulfilling the above qualification, candidates should have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET)/SLET in the relevant subject for Assistant Professors conducted by
the University Grant Commission. Provided candidates, who are, or have been awarded
Ph.D. degree in Education in accordance with the University Grant Commission (Minimum
Standard and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulation 2009, Shall be exempted
from the requirement of the clearing of NET for appointment as Assistant Professor or
equivalent position in University or College or Institutions.
3. Assistant Professor (Fine Arts) (Part Time) : Postgraduate degree in Fine Arts (MFA) with minimum 55% marks for General candidates and 50% for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/ Differently-abled candidates.
4. Assistant Professor (Performing Arts) (Part Time) : Postgraduate degree in Music/ Dance/ Theatre Arts with minimum 55% marks for General candidates and 50% for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Differently-abled candidates.
Selection Procedure :
Candidates may appear for a walk-in-interview on 12th February 2026. Venue is in North East Regional Institute of Education Shillong, Umiam, District: Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya- 793103. Reporting time is between 9 AM to 10 AM
How to apply :
The candidates will have to submit duly filled-up application form only in the prescribed format along-with self-attested copies of testimonials, experience certificate and one copy passport size photograph on the date of interview. They should also bring the originals for verification, failing which the candidate won’t get to attend the interview.
