Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Imphal Manipur is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or jobs of Research Personnel in the ICSSR funded research project titled “Families and the Impact of Inter-Ethnic Conflict in Manipur” in 2026.
Name of post : Research Assistant
No. of posts : 1
Eligibility Criteria :
(a) Master degree in any social science discipline with 55% marks.
(b) Ph.D. or M.Phil. or NET
(c) 1 years research experience.
Desirable : Expertise in writing, editing, SPSS, and proof-reading of research reports and/or
research manuscripts.
Salary : Rs. 37,000/- per month
Job Roles : The incumbent shall oversee the work of appointed field investigators, maintain all
administrative and financial records, visit field for verifying collected data, finalize the
research report, and carry out any other project related assignment as directed by Project Director.

Eligibility Criteria : Master degree in any social science discipline with 55% marks. Preference will be given to those acquainted with fieldwork and trained in the domain of either Anthropology, Sociology or any other allied discipline.
Desirable :
(a) Experience of fieldworkbased data collection in Imphal and tribal areas.
(b) Knowledge of local Manipuri and Kuki’s tribal language/dialect.
Salary : Rs. 20,000/- per month
Job Roles : The incumbents shall conduct literature review, comprehensive field work for
gathering data relating to research project, submit report of field visits and convene any
other project related assignment as directed by Research Assistant / Project Director.
