Shrimanta Shankar Academy Society Guwahati Assam is inviting applications from qualified, experienced, and passionate football professionals for recruitment to the jobs or vacancy of Football Coach to lead and develop its School/University/State/Regional Football Programme in 2026. The Society is committed to establishing a centre of excellence in football by nurturing talented student-athletes and creating a competitive football culture on campus. Beyond building a successful school/university team, the Society envisions playing a meaningful role in promoting and strengthening football in the State of Assam and the North Eastern Region, which has long been recognized as one of India’s richest reservoirs of football talent. The selected coach will lead the football programme, preparing teams for inter-university, state, national, and recognized league competitions, while contributing to the long-term development of football through talent identification, player development, and community engagement.

Eligibility Criteria
Football Coach – Senior Coach : Minimum AIFF ‘B’ License or ‘C’ License (or an equivalent coaching qualification recognized by AIFF).
Football Coach – Development Coach : Minimum AIFF ‘D’ License (or an equivalent coaching qualification recognized by AIFF).
Additional Criteria :
1. Higher coaching qualifications will be an added advantage.
2. Prior coaching experience with universities, clubs, academies, or professional football organisations is desirable.
3. Demonstrated ability to build competitive teams and develop players for higher levels of competition.
4. Strong leadership, communication, organisational, and mentoring skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and conduct structured technical, tactical, physical, and psychological training sessions.
2. Prepare and manage the University Football Team for inter-university tournaments, state and national championships, and recognised football league competitions.
3. Develop a competitive football programme capable of sustained success in league football and university championships.
4. Identify, recruit, and mentor talented footballers in accordance with University policies.
5. Foster discipline, teamwork, professionalism, and sportsmanship among student-athletes.
6. Monitor player performance, fitness, and overall development using modern coaching methodologies.
7. Coordinate fixtures, tournaments, travel, and logistics with Society authorities.
8. Organise talent identification camps, football clinics, outreach programmes, and grassroots initiatives to encourage wider participation in the sport.
9. Contribute to the Society’s vision of promoting football in Assam and the North Eastern Region by creating pathways for talented players, strengthening local football culture, and building partnerships with football associations, clubs, schools, and academies wherever appropriate.
