Dibrugarh University Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the govt job of Junior Research Fellow and Field Worker to work under the research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)- Advanced Research Grant (ARG) entitled “Domain-specific Machine Translation of Science and Technology Textbooks in Five Low-Resource Languages of Assam” in 2026.

Emoluments : Rs. 37,000 per month + HRA during Years 1–2 as JRF; Rs. 42,000 per month + HRA in Year 3 upon upgradation to SRF, for candidates qualified in CSIR-UGC NET/GATE or other applicable national eligibility tests, as per ANRF guidelines.
Essential Qualifications :
Either: (i) Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or any relevant branch; OR (ii) Master’s degree in ECE, CSE, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or any relevant branch, from a recognized university or equivalent.
Essential Skills :
Programming skills in Python/MATLAB/R and/or exposure to AI/ML techniques.
Desirable Skills :
Proficiency in at least one of the following languages of Assam: Assamese, Mising, Bodo, Karbi, or Dimasa

Essential Qualifications :
Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications — Post 1 :
Proficiency in the Mising language. Preference to candidates with linguistic background.
Desirable Qualifications —Post 2 :
Proficiency in the Dimasa language. Preference to candidates with linguistic background.
