Tocklai Tea Research Institute Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post or career of Project Fellow under UTZ India Private Ltd sponsored project “Sustainable Tea Pest Management in Assam: An IPM Taskforce Initiative” under the Department of Entomology. The Tea Research Association, popularly known as TRA Tocklai, is the oldest and the largest tea research institute globally which looks after the research and development needs of the Indian tea industry. It carries out and promotes research on tea with the principal objective of improving overall productivity and quality. It is a pioneer in the research and development of tea and an innovator in providing extension services to the tea industry. Research on all aspects of tea cultivation is carried out at Tocklai Tea Research Institute, Jorhat, Assam and at North Bengal R&D Centre, Nagrakata, West Bengal.

Essential qualification : M.Sc in Life Sciences/Zoology with specialisation in Entomology/ Agricultural Entomology with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.

Desirable : Having experience in tea pest management/ plant protection will be given preference.

Monthly Fellowship : Rs. 30,000 per month + Rs 3000 will be paid monthly for local travel expense.
Single accommodation will also be provided by the institution near to experimental plot.

Job Roles :

Field worklay out, treatment imposition, monitoring of field activities, yield record, observation
and record of physiological data, collection of soil and leaf samples, data compilation of field and
also laboratory observations, report preparation etc

Selection Procedure :

Candidates may appear for a walk-in-interview on 30th October 2024 from 10:30 AM onwards
