Jagannath Barooah (JB) College Jorhat Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post or career of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in SERB-DST funded project (SRG/2023/001094) entitled “The Impact of Exhumation and Denudation rates in Channel Morphology and the Challenges in Developing a Resilient Society around Assam-Mishmi-Northern Indo-Burma Ranges (Naga Hills)”. The program will NOT lead to any PhD altogether. Jagannath Barooah College is a premier institution of higher education located in Jorhat, a city with a rich cultural heritage and also a glorious historical background in the upper part of the Brahmaputra Valley of Assam.

Essential Qualification:
M.Sc. Or equivalent degree in Geology/Applied Geology with minimum 55% marks.
Preferences will be given to the candidates with a research experience and publications (in Scopus indexed journals) in Geomorphology/Morphotectonics/Tectonic-hydrology in Mishmi or Naga-Schuppen belt of NE India and have the knowledge of quaternary geochronology (like Carbon-dating, OSL etc.).
Emoluments: As per SERB-DEST norms.
