Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of one Project Linked Junior Research Fellow to work in the project titled “The Sacred Hills and Groves: A Study of Culture and Biodiversity Conservation in Jharkhand, India” in the Sociological Research Unit. Mahalanobis set up the Statistical Laboratory in the Presidency College sometime in the 1920s. On 17 December 1931, the Indian Statistical Institute was founded as a learned society and housed in the Statistical Laboratory. The Institute was registered on 28 April 1932, as a non-profit distributing learned society under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860) and is now registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961 amended in 1964. Sir R.N. Mookerjee accepted the office of the President of the Institute, and held this office until his death in 1936

Qualification :
First class or equivalent CGPA in Master’s degree in Sociology/ Anthropology from a recognised University or Institute.
Candidate with minimum one year of research/ field study experience altogether from a reputed institute or university on human ecology, natural resource management, cultural studies, tribal studies with evidence of publication in the related field will be preferred.
Knowledge/ experience in data extraction, data processing and also analysis using SPSS/ R/ other related statistical packages for social sciences is desired.
Salary : Rs. 30000/- per month
Age :
Should not exceed 35 years as on 01 April 2024, age may be relaxed for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Women and also differently abled candidates.
