Assam Agricultural University is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Project Scientist(GIS), Assistant Project Scientist(GIS) and Research Technician in 2026 under the ad-hoc project, “GIS Lab-Support to Existing GIS Lab”.
Name of post : Project Scientist (GIS)
No. of posts : 1
Educational Qualification: The applicant must possess Master’s degree in Remote Sensing or Geography or Agriculture or closely related field.
Working Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of technical training in remote sensing and GIS with proven skills in vegetation phenology, land use and land
cover change and database management. She/he should have some experience for providing training on farming techniques. An understanding and experience in Tools and software’s of Remote sensing
Remuneration : Rs. 76,665/- per month with 10% annual increment.
Name of post : Assistant Project Scientist (GIS)
No. of posts : 3
Educational Qualification: The applicant must possess Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field. However, preference will be given to candidates having degree in GIS/ Remote Sensing related fields.
Working Experienc?: Sufficient experience in handling GIS/ Remote Sensing related work in any public/private sector organization.
Remuneration : Rs. 35,000/- per month with 10% annual increment.
Name of post : Research Technician
No. of posts : 1
Educational Oualification: At least Higher Secondary (10+2) pass.
Experience: Preference to candidates with experience in rice production or farming and rice machinery operations. Experience in organizing Farmers meetings and community mobilization would be an added advantage.
Remuneration : Rs. 25,000/- per month with 10% annual increment.
