Gauhati University Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Research Assistant on purely temporary basis for an ICSSR funded Research Project, with a focus on advancing the vision of viksit Bharat@2047 in the domain of social and Human Sciences, entitled “Gram Swaraj to e-Gram Swaraj : A Study of Empowerment & Accountability of e-Panchayats in Northeast India” in 2026.

Salary : Rs. 37,000/- per month (as per ICSSR guidelines)
Essential Qualification :
Postgraduate or MPhil or PhD in Political Science, Public Administration (or allied subjects) with a minimum of 55% marks and UGC NET qualification
Desirable Qualification :
d. Excellent written and communication skills.
b. Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS etc).
c. Experience in data collection, data handling, data analysis, and report writing.
d. Demonstrated expertise in research writing and documentation, with a track record of publications in SCOPUS/WoS/UGC-CARE indexed journals in the relevant domain.

along with all ORIGINAL Marksheets and Certificates from 10th onwards, testimonials, experience certificates (if any), UGC-NET certificate, evidence of publications (if any) for verification and a single set of photocopies of all documents (self-attested) for submission before the interview.
