Diphu Medical College Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Research Scientist-B in 2026 for purely temporary and contractual engagement at medical college level Viral Research Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL), Government of India scheme “Setting up of Nation-wide Network of Laboratories for Managing Epidemics and National Calamities”, funded by the Department of Health Research – Indian Council of Medical Research (DHR-ICMR).

Monthly Remuneration : Rs. 56000+ 10% HRA per month
Essential Qualifications:
MBBS/BDS / B.V.Sc. & AH recognized by MCI / DCI /VCI respectively.
Or
BDS/B. V. Sc degree with one year experience in relevant field.
OR
1st class Master’s degree in relevant subject (Microbiology/Virology/ Biotechnology) from a
recognized university
Or
2nd class M. Sc. + Ph.D degree in relevant subject (Microbiology/Virology/Biotechnology) from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualifications:
i. MD in the related subject from a recognized university for candidates with first class relevant degree.
ii. Additional Post doctoral research / training experience in relevant subjects in relevant subjects in recognized institute(s).
iii. Ph. D/Doctorate in the related subject from a recognized university for candidates with first class relevant degree.
iv. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Management.
v. Two years R&D / Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification.
