Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Guwahati Assam is inviting applications in 2026 from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Quantitative Investigator and Qualitative Investigator to evaluate and conduct the Impact Assessment of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) CSR Projects (Three FYs between 2022-2025).
Name of post : Quantitative Investigator
No. of posts : 6
Remuneration : Rs. 20,000 per month (consolidated for data collection & entry work, including applicable tax)
Job Responsibilities:
1. Translate and moderate research tools into Assamese
2. Administer structured survey tools via Kobo Toolbox and offline to project beneficiaries
3. Ensure timely and accurate data collection and entry
4. Perform daily checks and corrections on data
5. Any other work as assigned related to the project
Eligibility Criteria:
Essential Qualification :
1. Minimum Bachelorโs degree or higher in any discipline (preferably in Social Sciences or related fields).
2. Fluency in Assamese is mandatory
Desirable Qualification:
1. Experience: Preferably 2 projects done in survey data collection or field research.
2. Experience of working in rural settings.
3. Selected candidates should be willing to temporarily relocate or travel to the NRL project locations as required.
Skills Required:
1. Basic knowledge of Google Forms and online survey platforms like Kobo Toolbox
2. Ability to interact with diverse community groups
3. Good communication and organisational skill
Name of post : Qualititative Investigator
No. of posts : 4
Remuneration : Rs.25,000 per month (consolidated for data collection & entry work, including applicable tax)
Job Responsibilities:
1. Conduct in-depth interviews and group discussions with beneficiaries
2. Collect qualitative data through audio recordings (via mobile phones)
3. Transcription and translation of the recordings
4. Prepare narrative reports. Document best practices and success stories
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification: Minimum Masterโs degree in Social Work or any Social
Science discipline. Fluency in Assamese is mandatory
Desirable Qualification:
1. Experience: Preferably 2 projects done in survey data collection or field research.
2. Experience of working in rural settings.
3. Selected candidates should be willing to temporarily relocate or travel to the NRL
project locations as required.
Skills Required:
1. Strong narrative and interviewing skills
2. Familiarity with transcription and thematic analysis
