Bameng MLA Goruk Pordung of Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday inaugurated a guest house of the Gyan Mission Orphanage (GMO) at the Block A1 of Safdarjung Enclave in New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Pordung said that the GMO should give accommodation priority to the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

“Though there are several government accommodations like Arunachal Bhawan, Arunachal House which is owned by the State government, it is not enough and the people of Arunachal, irrespective of their background and designation at times face lots of problem in getting a proper and reasonable place to stay,” the MLA said.

Expressing happiness that the guest house would also provide tribal food, Pordung said the same would make the guests feel homely.

GMO chairperson Yasi Nalo Sonam said that majority of the funds earned through the guest house would go for charity work.

Among others, Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board chairman Jalley Sonam, social activist Norbu Sonam were also present on the occasion.
