Prodeep Kumar Daimary, the former ABSU leader and former deputy chief of erstwhile Bodoland Autonomous Council (BAC) and ex general secretary of United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) on Monday resigned from the primary membership of the regional political party,UPPL purely on personal ground.

Stating this in a press communique Daimary said that he had been thankful to all the UPPL party members for their help and cooperation in the past and said that his resignation is purely on personal ground.

On a question by Northeast Now about his future plans, Daimary maintained that he had no wishes to join any political party but would engage himself in social welfare activites on his personal capacity.

It is pertinent to mention here that Daimary contested the last Parliamentary elections as an UPPL independent candidate and had a good response in the three legislative segments under Udalguri Election District and was placed in third position.
