The anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB-S) has termed the claim of apprehension of a trained cadre of the outfit along with arms and ammunition recently in Chirang as ‘false’.

Reacting to a claim that a “trained lady cadre” of the NDFB-S was apprehended in Samudisha village No 3 after a joint operation launched by the Army along with “pistol, live ammunition and medicine”, NDFB-S president B. Saoraigwra in a press communiqué claimed that it is “totally false”.

Saoraigwra said the apprehended lady was “not a trained cadre of NDFB”.

“According to our sources, Rishima Narzary, a resident of village Samudisha No 3, under the Runikhata Police Station, was a poor woman under the poverty line category family,” the NDFB-S president stated.

He added that “after the loss of her husband she has been working as a labour” in houses of other people and in the “field for their survival”.

The NDFB anti-talk faction chief further claimed that after her arrest by the security forces, “she was given a pistol, live ammunition and some medicines to make her a trained cadre of NDFB”.

He questioned, “How can a poor family who is living hand to mouth, can have such weapons?”

He said the arrest of such pity women along with her 4-year child is “not tolerable”.

Saoraigwra said they strongly “condemn this act” and warned the security force “not to kill, harass and torture the indigenous people and not use eliminate policy upon the indigenous people again and again”.

He further stated: “India will not able to uproot the Boro community from the earth because we are the son of the soil that is “BOROLAND” so, we have the right to live with sovereign land and such cruel act cannot stop our right” Independence”.”

Stating that indigenous people are harassed, tortured and killed in fake encounter, the NDFB-S president said “we are not feeling secure in our land, and in such manner how can we get protection from India”.

“We are not free in living with India so leave us like a free nation,” Saoraigwra added.

The Eastern Command of the Army on its official Twitter handle stated: “#IndianArmy unit along with police in a joint operation apprehended a locally trained lady cadre of NDFB(S) with arms & ammunition from village Samudisha, Chirang, Assam on 15 June 2019”
