Sikkim chief minister Prem Singh Golay accompanied by state minister of rural management and development, Sonam Lama called on the union finance minister, Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday at New Delhi and congratulated for her outstanding victory in recent Lok Sabha election and discussed on various finance related matters.

The chief minister briefed the union minister about the financial crisis that Sikkim is going through and urged to bail government of Sikkim out of this mess and to meet Sikkim’s demands on account of payment of arrears for the State Government employees and pensioners in line with pay committee recommendations.
He also requested to release the balance amount which Government of India was supposed to transfer finance commission’s recommendations, at the earliest and also to release Rs 300 crore for the purchase of equipments for the newly constructed STNM hospital.
Union Minister assured of all possible assistance to the State on the discussed issues.
Likewise, the chief minister also called on the union minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda.
The chief minister congratulated for his victory in recent Lok Sabha election and also wished him a very fruitful career for the present assignment as the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs.
Golay expressed his concern over the two issues in particular, about according seat allocation in favour of Limboo and Tamang communities in Sikkim Legislative Assembly and about granting tribal status to all the eleven left out communities of Sikkim.
The chief minister and the union minister further discussed steps to sort out the above two issues in a coordinated manner. The Union Minister also assured him all possible support towards finalising both the issues as quickly as possible.
