The first annual meet of Bodo Women Writers Association was held at the Nirvana Garden in Kokrajhar with a day-long programme on Sunday.
As per the scheduled programme, president of the association Uttara Bwiswmuthiary hoisted the organization flag followed by homage to the martyrs by noted writer and Sahitya Akademi awardee Anju Narzary.
A discussion on various topics and issues related to women like ‘women writers and women power’, ‘awareness on various laws related to women’ were held.
Later an open meeting was held where Romela Islary, vice president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha attended the function as chief guest and principal of Kokrajhar Government College, Banabina Brahma attended as guest of honour.
Bodo women writers from various parts of Assam and students participated in the meet.
Among others who attended included professor from Bodoland University Dr Indira Boro, noted writer and Sahitya Akademi awardee Jwishri Boro, Dhirjyu Jyoti Baumatary, Dansri Swargiary, Rekha Ramchiary, Bhavani Baglary, Lila basumatary, and Geetika Basumatary.
