The Meghalaya BJP on Monday said “there is no all India vision in the Congress manifesto”.
“The Congress manifesto as it appears has been made just to gather votes of the separatists of J&K,” said a press communique issued by Meghalaya BJP spokesperson Basu Chakraborty.
“There is no all India vision in it. It is a manifesto made for vote-bank only. It plans to destroy institutions and help terrorists,” Chakraborty further said in the communique.
Stating that the Congress manifesto contains suggestions on the media, “each one of which will regulate, restrict free journalism and otherwise multiplicity of Indian media,” the Meghalaya BJP spokesperson said, “It (Congress manifesto) sympathises with people who insult the nation. They have promised to eliminate the laws of sedition against those who do not believe in the Constitution of India. They sympathise those who burn the Tricolour, insult it, who raise slogans of dividing India instead of ‘Jai Mind’, those who break the statues of Baba Saheb Ambedkar.”
Contiuing attack on the Congress, the Meghalaya BJP spokesperson stated that the Congress “misguide and misrule the state and nation with their camouflaging attitude”.
Saying that the voting power, “the strength of democracy is now alert and ready to swipe them (Congress) out and clean the motherland”, the Meghalaya BJP appealled to the voters of Meghalaya to “save the nation” by casting votes in favour of the BJP.
Meghalaya will go to polls in first phase on April 11.
The Meghalaya BJP stated that “the voters are really fed up with the false assurances of the previous governments who ruled for seventy years”.
Lauding the Narendra Modi-led NDA government, the Meghalaya BJP press communique stated: “Due to wide circulations of media and social media, the voters of our state are well aware of the correct scenario of the Modi government.”
Asserting that Modi is “an all-round leader nationally and internationally”, the Meghalaya BJP said: “He (modi) proved and established today himself as a real successful leader. Without bifurcation among the people of India, his agenda is Saab Ka Sath Saab ka Vikas.”
Stating that Modi’s government is “committed to all the citizens of India, for overall development only”, state BJP spokesperson Chakraborty stated: “People of the states have full faith on his (Modi) transparent and non-corrupt government.”
“The people of the state have full confidence that only BJP representatives can communicate with the next BJP central Government and they can only bring the development for the state,” it asserted.
“No other than BJP representative in Lok Sabha can do this job smoothly because BJP is the only national political party who thinks for the common peoples’ development,” it said.
Attacking the coal mining policy of the previous Congress government in Meghalaya, the Meghalaya BJP stated: “Our state is now badly affected economically due to the wrong coal mining policies of the Congress government.”
“There are still many poor people who toil for the whole day, burning blood and sweat together, carrying babies in their back, working as peasants, selling kwai, vegetables, etc. All these just for a day’s bread. Yes, only elected representative in Lok Sabha can solve this problem,” it added.
