Bhaiching Bhutia

Former Indian football captain and working president of Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP) Bhaichung Bhutia has put two of his sport jerseys on an online auction to raise money for contesting the ensuing Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Sikkim.

The Arjuna awardee and legendary footballer Padmashri Bhaichung Bhutia has already appealed to the citizens of the country to donate for the political campaign of Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP) for bringing clean and new politics to Sikkim through the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha polls.

The highest donor will be given the jersey, which Bhutia wore for United Nations Development Programme’s ‘Match Against Poverty’, which was signed by International stars like Zico, Figo and others.

On the other hand, the second highest donor will get the jersey which Bhutia wore for Team India at his farewell match against Bayern Munich at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi.

Bhaichung Bhutia said, “Hamro Sikkim Party is a new party formed to cleanse the caste-corruption-muscle ridden politics of Sikkim. Clean money for this brand of politics must come from common people and that is why I have decided to gift two of my favourite jerseys to persons who make the highest and second highest donations to the campaign of Hamro Sikkim Party.”

Stating that there are many public-spirited sports-lovers in India, he hopes that “they will come forward and make handsome donations to the cause of clean politics in India”.

“I have deep emotional attachments to my jerseys but I have an even deeper resolve to make Sikkim a better place for all and I am ready to give up my personal emotions for the larger cause of a new, clean Sikkim and realise the slogan Naya Sikkim, Hamro Sikkim,” he added.

The donation drive will be conducted at http://htc-group.org which will go live on Monday at 10:00 am.

Details of the methods of donation and links to donate online shall be soon posted on the Facebook page of Hamro Sikkim Party and other online media.

All donations shall be through banking channels and shall be publicly disclosed, the party informed.
