Police arrested one suspected Arunachali arms smuggler and two others with arms and ammunition from a hideout in Bnaderdewa in Lakhimpur district along Assam and Arunachal Pradesh border.
Police officials said acting on a tip-off a team of police from Laluk police station and Banderdewa police outpost on Thursday raided a house on the Police Training Centre of Banderdewa on NH-15 and arrested three persons.
Two pistols and seven rounds of live cartridges were found on them, said a police official.
The arrested persons have been identified as Prabin Mili from Majuli, Antony Doki from Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh and Saurabh Doley from Panigaon in Lakhimpur.
Police said are integrating the arrested youths to find out whether they were involved in arms smuggling racket or have any nexus with militants’ outfit.
