The former chief minister of Meghalaya, Mukul Sangma, took a jibe at the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on Sunday.
He severely castigated the PM on his Twitter handle by saying, “Modi ji, you promised ‘Ache Din’ but what the Nation got is ‘Bure Din’. Now that the election dates are announced, it’s time for everybody to finally come together and ensure #BureDinMuktBharat.”
Earlier, Mukul Sangma had also criticised the PM over the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) and said that he does not know the “intricacies and diversity of the nation”. It may be mentioned that the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the 2019 poll dates on Sunday. The elections will commence on April 11 next and will continue till May 19 next. With the EC announcing poll dates, knives are out among different political parties – the prime among them being Congress and BJP.
Post the Pulwama attack, the scales seems to be tilted more towards the BJP and sensing the mood of the nation, the Congress and the other Opposition parties are doubting the Indian Air Force jets striking Jaish terror camps across the LoC. It is reported that the Indian Air Force (IAF) launched airstrike on terror camps and launch pads across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir at 3.30 am on February 26 last. IAF sources stated that 1,000 kg of bombs were dropped on Jaish bases across the LoC by multiple jets, including the IAF’s Mirage 2000. It is reported that more than 300 Jaish terrorists were killed in these strikes.
However, the Opposition leaders are doubting the strikes and said that proof be given vis-à-vis the number of terrorists killed in the Balakot strike.
