The Government of Manipur and Jurong Consultants (India) Private Limited, a member of Surbana Jurong Group along with Global Strategy Partners have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of the chief minister N Biren Singh at chief minister’s Secretariat on Tuesday evening, official sources said.

The MoU was signed by chief secretary Dr J Suresh Babu on behalf of Government of Manipur and Meera Girija Tadimeti, BD Head-Marketing of Jurong Consultants Pvt Ltd.

Principal secretary Rakesh Ranjan, commissioner of public health engineering and tourism Nidhi Kesarwani were also present during the function.

The MoU aims to prepare a technical project structure for marketing and investment kits to facilitate under impact investment which aligns with the United Nations sustainable goals.

The MoU will facilitate a platform for impact investment to be bought into Manipur based on the projects identified.

The MoU includes key areas such as formulating a proposal for marketable strategy and provide the collaborator G S Partners the requirements to shortlist a range of investable projects for approval by the government of Manipur.

The Memorandum of Understanding will also facilitate impact investment in areas like electric bus transit infrastructure, transit oriented development as economic hubs, smart health, energy generation and transmission from solar supporting the transit, affordable housing etc.
