Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ordering retaliation against Pulwama attack, Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that there will be an eye for an eye in case of terrorists in the new India.

Sarma said this at Sadiya in Tinsukia district of Assam while laying the foundation stone of a second bridge over Kundil river and added that earlier also there were terrorists attacks on India but the government did not give permission to launch attacks on terrorists camp.

“Prime Minister Nareandra Modi has brought a sea change to the country within last five years. Earlier also terrorist attack took place in India but the governments at the centre never gave permission to launch attacks.

“However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time after Pulwama attack gave permission to attack the terrorist camps. The Indian Air Force launched the attack and returned to India after bombing in selected locations,” said Sarma.

“This is New India of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In new India no one will cook food using fire wood, no village in the country will be without electricity and there will be an eye for an eye for terrorists,” said Sarma while addressing a huge rally.

The finance minister highlighted the developmental works undertaken by the Prime Minister Modi led government in the region and said that while the Central government have completed 5000 kms of roads in the region in last five years the BJP government in the state has also taken steps to ensure free admission in all classes of colleges, free textbooks and waiver of hostel fees.

“Our government has reduced the price of rice from existing Rs. 3 per kg to Re 1 per kg. Now we are considering on how to make kerosene oil and sugar available at cheaper price through public distribution system (PDS),” he added.
