The Assamese community in Bengaluru is all set to celebrate Rongali Bihu in style with all its traditions, pomp and gaiety through Spring Fest.
The Assam Society of Bangalore is organizing the Spring Fest 2019 commemorating with Bohag Bihu on April 13 next like previous years.
This year, which is the 20th edition of the Spring Fest, the main attraction will be youth icon and heartthrob of the young generation Zubeen Garg who will be performing live in the cultural evening on that day.
The contribution for corporate pass has been fixed at Rs 1000, while contribution for economy pass is Rs 500.
However, entry is free for children below five years.
Meanwhile, booking for online passes has been opened online and one go to the official website of the Assam Society of Bangalore, http://www.assamsocietybangalore.com/event/20th-asob-spring-festival-2019/ to book passes.
Payments can also be made online through the link in the page.
One would be issued an entry ticket at the venue after showing the online receipt.
Several contact numbers and an e-mail id: @ [email protected] has also been given in the official page for booking of entry passes.
The day-long programme at HSR Layout also includes bihu flag hoisting and welcome chorus at 10 am followed by ‘jolpaan‘ (light ethnic snacks).
Several traditional games will be held in the afternoon at 3 pm.
Another highlight of the programme is a ‘Laru Pitha Pona competition’ at 3:30 pm.
Bihu kuwori and mukoli bihu competitions will also be held at 4 pm.
The cultural evening starts at 6 pm.
The Assam Society of Bangalore always tries new ways to make sure that fellow Bangalorean Assamese enjoy the events/festivals to the fullest.
This Bihu, the society is bringing a food carnival of finger licking cuisines from various north-eastern states.
Exclusive stall of delicious Assamese cuisine will also be there to make one feel that one is never far away from Assam.
There will also be display of products of home decor, apparels, crockery, jewellery, accessories, shoes, graphite, gardening and many more in the flea market.
