The three AGP legislators, who were members in the council of ministers of Assam, headed by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, are all set to tender their resignations on Wednesday.
Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president and State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Water Resources Minister Keshav Mahanta and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Phani Bhushan Choudhury are scheduled to meet the Chief Minister at 5 pm on Wednesday.
It may be mentioned here that the AGP has walked out of the alliance with the BJP in Assam as the latter went ahead to get the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 passed in Lok Sabha .
An AGP delegation led by president Atul Bora met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday and informed about their decision to quit from the alliance.
