While showing solidarity and sympathy toward the fire victims of Mangnang and Pekung villages, the Adi Baane Kebang (the apex & appellate body of Adis) and Kayi Gumin Welfare Society of Tekang village in Arunachal’s Pasighat extended relief items.
While handing over the relief items from ABK, secretary general, Okom Yosung along with East Siang unit of ABK general secretary, Talut Siram, women wing and youth wing, said that the traditional ‘Lamkang’ has to be reintroduced in all the Adi inhabited villages across Siang, Dibang and Lohit belts.
Yosung also urged the villagers of Mangnang and Pekung village to stay alert regarding handling of fires and its taking care.
Meanwhile, Kayi Gumín Welfare Society of Tekang village as a part of its objective of charitable activity, visited the 10 fire victims of Mangnang village under Sille-Oyan circle of East Siang-Pasighat on Monday to donate immediate relief in kinds to the victims which included 10 blankets and two items of kitchenware.
“As the sayings goes, ‘Service to mankind is service to God’ the KGWS is always there to render charitable service to mankind and with the exigency of time and situation, we shall extend our free service whoever deserve to be served”, said KGWS president, Tapok Tamuk and secretary general, Bajing Tayeng.
“On our part, we would like to appeal every stakeholder and other NGOs to lend their prompt and legitimate interest and help to any victim in case of occurrence of disaster of any kind,” added Boyem Jerang, vice president, KGWS.
Other members like chief auditor, Nalo Takuk, Taram Darang, Tameng Siram and Tatem Darang were also present during the relief distribution.
