Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi on Saturday made a stopover at the Dhekiakhowa Barnamghar on his way to his hometown Dibrugarh.

The chief justice who was accompanied by his wife landed at Rowriah airport at about 2 pm and was received by Rani Boro, Chief Judicial Magistrate and district and sessions judge VK Chandak.

Gogoi reached the Dhekiakhowa Barnamghar at 2.30 pm and offered a sarai at the religious place of worship.

At the Barnamghar he was received by the office-bearers of the temple management committee and felicitated him with a seleng sador and sophura (traditional brass container with lid).

Gogoi proceeded by road to Dibrugarh and is also reported to have offered prayers at the historic Siva Doul at Sivasagar.
