Sikkim Rajya Manch party president RN Chamling got a warm welcome by his supporters at Rangpo in East Sikkim on his return to Sikkim after the registration of SRM party by the Election Commission of India.

A letter from ECI to the party president mentioned that SRM has been registered as a political party by the ECI. The party was formed on 07 December last year.

Speaking to media at Rangpo, Chamling mentioned that SRM party has been registered by the ECI and the party has been dedicated to the people of Sikkim. He added that SRM was the people’s party and now it is in their hands to take the party ahead. He urged the people to support the party and work for Sikkim.

On the first anniversary of the party, Chamling has expressed his best wishes to the people of Sikkim and also thanked them for supporting and encouraging SRM till date. He added that the party was for every community and section of the people and further encouraged them to come together in the interest of Sikkim.

While speaking on the registration of the party, he mentioned that the party had approached the ECI for the registration immediately after forming the party in December last year but due to obstacles put by the State government the registration process got delayed. However, he added that due to continuous efforts and support of the people SRM finally got registered. He added that now the party will rigorously start its state-wide political programmes in Sikkim.

Chamling informed that SRM has also applied for the party symbol and have given 10 symbols.
