The premier show of a most awaited feature film ‘Pahuna- The Little Visitors’ was screened at Denzong cinema hall in Gangtok of Sikkim on Thursday evening.

The film has been produced by Purple Pebble Pictures of Bollywood actor and Assam Tourism brand ambassador Priyanka Chopra and directed by Paakhi A Tyrewala.

The film is completely shot in Sikkim with local artistes. Pahuna is a film about three Nepalese children who get separated from their parents while entering into Sikkim from Nepal during Maoists agitation in Nepal. The film has two child artistes, Ishika Gurung from Pakyong in East Sikkim and Anmol Limboo from Changey in West Sikkim in the lead roles.

The film will be released in different cinema halls in India and Nepal on Friday. In Sikkim, Denzong Hall will screen two show of the film for one week at 11 am and 2:15 pm from Friday.

The premier show was attended by Tourism Minister Ugen T Gyatso Bhutia, Purple Pebble Picture Production CEO Sandip Bhargava, director Pakhi A Tyrewala, Tourism Department Secretary, T T Bhutia and other dignitaries.

Addressing a press conference before the premier show, the director of the movie expressed that Pahuna was Sikkim’s film and it will take Sikkim on the world map. She stated that the film has well captured the innocence of Sikkimese people.

She added that it was a great journey to work with talented child and other artists of Sikkim in the film. She appreciated that lead artistes, Ishika Gurung and Anmol Limboo have worked exceptionally well.

She also thanked everyone from Sikkim for their support in making this film.

Tyrewala also stated that Pahuna was not commercial film but it has put Sikkim on the world map. She stated to take the film internationally by releasing on the Netflix to reach out over 100 countries.

It is informed that the film has already impressed audiences in different international film festivals at different parts of the world.

Tourism Minister informed that the State government has provided Rs 80 lakhs for the film for the promotion of Sikkim and Sikkim tourism. He stated that the government has been working to promote Sikkim nationally and internationally.
