The Mizo National Front (MNF) on Monday released the list of 39 candidates at Vanapa Hall for the upcoming Assembly polls scheduled to be held on November 28.
Party president Zoramthanga will fight Aizawl East I constituency while former Congress ministers R Lalzirliana and Lalrinliana Sailo have also given party tickets.
Speaking at the function held in Aizawl, former health minister and campaign chairman of the MNF, R Tlanghmingthanga said that there were 17 new faces and 17 former MLAs.
R Lalzirliana, who has resigned as home minister, has been given ticket from Tawi AC where he will face Rosiamngheta of the INC and Prof. JV Hluna, the state BJP president.
Former health minister of the Congress government Lalrinliana Sailo has been fielded from Chalfilh AC; he will lock horns with Congress’ new entrant, LT Hrangchal, an retired IPS officer.
Aizawl FC owner Robert Romawia Royte was given ticket his home constituency of Aizawl East II, Robert will lock horns with the present finance minister Lalsawta.
Tawnluia, former home minister of Mizoram and the army chief of the then underground MNF will contest from Tuichang AC.
He will contest against young Congress candidate James Thanghmingmawia.
MNF’s sitting legislators K Sangthuama will try to retain Aizawl West I and Lalruatkima will contest from Aizawl West II for the third time.
C Lalramzauva, a senior advocate and the main lawyer of Lalhriatrenga Chhangte, who has filed a case against chief minister Lal Thanhawla has been given ticket from Serchhip AC.
Two councillors of the MNF Led Aizawl Municipal Council – deputy mayor Lalringliana and Laltlanzova Khiangte will contest from Aizawl North I and Aizawl North II constituency respectively.
