The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) policy making body meeting was held at Aronnai restaurant conference hall on Sunday in Kokrajhar. Several resolutions were passed in the meeting as regards contesting the forthcoming Panchayat elections. The BPF has decided to contest the forthcoming Panchayat elections on their own in constituencies where they have majority supporters and the party will support their alliance partner in constituencies where they do not enjoy much support.
Hagrama Mohilary, president of BPF, who is also the chief of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), presided over the meeting. Talking to media persons, Mohilary said that in Sunday’s policy-making meeting, they also discussed about the hazards caused by the Dhaligaon carbon factory in Chirang and decided to discuss with the Assam Government the issue of expansion of 40 to 60 seats in the BTC Assembly.

Mohilary also stated that the BPF has been working for peace, integrity and development in the Bodoland Territorial Autonomous District (BTAD) areas. Kampa Borgoyary, Deputy Chief of BTC, Emmanuel Moshahary, general secretary, BPF, who is also MLA , Prabin Boro, MLA, Executive Members (EMs) Rajib Brahma, Banjar Daimary, Ansumwi Kungur Boro, Lwmsrao Daimary , Mrithunjay Narzary and leaders from different wings of BPF were present in the policy making body meeting.
