A couple identified as Ramani Praja and Bhola Praja were murdered in cold blood late Thursday night at Dikhari tea garden area around three kilometers from Dimow.

Notably, the killer managed to flee from the scene of crime immediately after committing the double murder.
On the other hand, even as the news of the horrific double murder spread like wildfire, infuriated locals of the tea garden went in search of the killer.
But not finding him at his residence, the irate tea garden labourers vandalized his house.
The agitated locals also damaged the motorcycle belonging to the alleged murderer.
Even as the enraged locals tried to set the house of the accused on fire, police from Moran arrived at the scene and took control of the situation.
The police also pacified the locals not to take law into their own hands.
However, the locals engaged in a verbal dual with the police.
The locals also resisted the police from taking away the bodies for post mortem before nabbing the murderer.
The bodies of the victim are still lying on the road till the filing of this report.
Police are also trying hard to neutralize the situation which is still very tense.
