The first two-day youth conference of Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak (TRC), an indigenous faith was inaugurated at Ragailong area in Imphal on Saturday.

The theme of the event is ‘our roots, our strength’. The indigenous faith is  followed by Kabui (Rongmei) community in Northeast.

Manipur works and rural development minister Th Biswajit Singh was the chief guest of the opening function held at Ragailong area in Imphal.

Local MLA Okram Henry,President of Neroca Football Club Thangjam Arunkumar, Ragailong area leader Gonthangmei Kakhangai,President Meishonglung Pamei of TRC organisation, Assam,Manipur and Nagaland(AMN)also attended the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Biswajit Singh called upon the youths to work hard today for a better tomorrow.

Stating that youths are the future pillars of the society, Biswajit also appealed to be positive while dealing with things for a positive life and positive society.

Lauding the effort to follow the forefather’s traditional path, he said that one should protect and preserve the tradition for the future generation. No religion or faith teaches us to divide but unite for a better understanding and communal harmony.

Hoisting of conference flag by the chief guest of the gathering, invocation to Tingkao Ragwang, oblation of holy wine to Tingkao Ragwang, extraction of sacred fire and candle lighting the main feature of the inaugural session of the conference which was attended by around 600 delegates from TRC organisations from Assam, Manipur and Nagaland were some of the highlights of the event.

According to President Lungaithao Pamei of TRC Chabuan organisation Manipur, the main objective of organizing the youth conference is to protect, preserve and promote the age old cultural and religious values of the community by following our forefathers’ footsteps. This is the need of the hour.

The indigenous faith TRC believes in regeneration of the traditional faith to the glory again and passes on to the next generation and the next, Lungaithao felt.

In the technical session of the conference, Dr Budha Kamei of Manipur University of Culture will speak on ‘The concept of TRC’ while General Secretary Chaoba Kamson of TRC organisation AMN will deliver a lecture on ‘The rites of passage(Ringlon Theilon) in TRC’.

On the other hand auditor Gaingamlung Maringmei of TRC organisation AMN will share his thoughts on ‘The Roles of Youths in TRC.
